After a long and fructuous association with Ren Bonnet (beginning in 1949) with the DB (Deutsch and Bonnet), Charles Deutsch becomes in 1962 a new adventure with the creation of its own brand : SERA CD.
In 1966, after the Panhard___s disappearing, C. Deutsch chooses Peugeot. From this alliance, a beautiful _ coup _ CD SP66 is born. Choulet (his aerodynamicien) keeps the great principles seing in the CD 64. It___s result a streamlined body without right angle. The rear part of the car is, like the CD 64, equiped with two great vertical wings. New, the rear bonet is divisible in two parts depending the circuit: the long tail for the quick track and the short tail for the low track. The light chassis (75 kg) is a box structure in which the engine is fixed transversaly.

In 1966, three ___long tail___ cars entered in the race: n51 : C. Laurent, JC. Ogier, n52 : A. Bertaut, P. Lelong, n53 : G. Heligoin, J. Rives ___ but further at a small shock, the n53 ran with a short tail. Before the half of the race, the three cars renounced further technicals problems or accidents.

In 1967, the two cars entered - n52 (C. Ballot Lena, D. Dayan) and n53 (A. Bertaut, A. Guilhaudin) - have not more success ...

It___s the end of the CD story. But all the Choulet___s aerodynamicals works will be used on the Matra 640 and Porsche 917 LH. If Charles Deutsch has never win the 24 hours of Le Mans race, he ___ll become the official director of this race from 1969 to 1980.
